Rick Rose: I was blessed to have Andy in my life, giving him a big hug just hours before he left this earth. He teased me incessantly, showed me love, was always a phone call away. He always prayed for me. Andy gave his later decades in service. Almost blind up until a couple of months ago, he kept cooking for the homeless at the Salvation Army every other week. He spent decades cooking for youth outings, hundreds of Turkeys cooked in an Imu, and all kinds of church functions. He also took incredible care of the grounds at a Lahaina church he attended. He worked for over 40 years as a mailman in Lahaina, Maui. The great abundance of older locals I’d mention his name to knew him. Just a couple of weeks ago, Kevin, who works security at a resort reminisced fondly how as a child Andy would drive he and other children around the block on his mail truck, hanging on the outside! I mentioned Kevin's name to Andy and he remembered where he lived and his son's name. Andy you’ll be missed. Pastor Jim Wellsand: I remember Andy as a good servant. He made his chicken for Wed nights. He led us to serve at the resource center twice a month. He did the grounds. Praise God for his faithful service. Christy Upham: Andy had such a generous heart! He was always giving to the church and community. My sweetest memory was how he took Greg- the Pali Walker- into his home until we could get Greg back to his family on the Mainland. When asked if he could help, he didn't hesitate to say yes as he felt the leading of the Lord to do so. I will miss Andy, his smile, his unique sense of humor, and his servants heart! Conrad Kalehuawehe: I'll always remember Uncle Andy being early, whether waiting for me to open the church sanctuary at 7am or picking him up to go have dinner or events. Uncle Andy was always faithful to pray was always there at the building for prayer. A prayer warrior he was. Patrick Vanbramer: There are a lot of good things to say about Andy. A trait that is so easy to see is that he gave so much without expecting anything in return. He volunteered much of his time through hard work, done to Glorify the Lord. He didn't have to do any of these things, but knowing Andy, the man with the Golden heart, he needed to do these things. Not for pay, but for his payment to give back to the One whom Blesses. This is the Legacy he leaves us. To Honor God in all we do. To be Humble. To show Love with the gifts He gives us. Andy was a gift given to us from God. A gift that keeps giving and a gift that remains in our hearts. We will see you there Andy, one day, doing the Lord's work. We will miss you, but we know the Promise. You are in our hearts Andy. We Love you man. Later P
Pastor Chris and Wendy Martin:
Although we first met Andy as a member of Lahaina Baptist
Church, we considered him family from the start. All of our
relatives visiting us on Maui loved Andy like family also.
Whether we watched Super Bowls, celebrated holidays, or just
relaxed at a beach park cook-out, we often spent the whole day
with Andy. Ed Quiring: I remember Andy as a quiet worker behind the scene. He didn't seek the limelight but just wanted to serve. And he was so generous not only with his time but with his money.

Andy would tease me and I'd punch him. He'd scratch his other arm saying he felt an itch. |
